Description: | The programme seeks to promote the insertion and retention of women in the labour market through the promotion of apprenticeships and measures to support the care of young children (known as early childhood upbringing). The legislation, stemming from an Interim Measure (MP 1116/2022), makes working time more flexible for mothers and fathers with children up to six years old or with disabilities, who can benefit from priority for part-time work, early holidays, and flexible arrival and departure times (subject to agreement with the company they work for). The legislation provides incentives for female professional qualifications, support for micro-credit for women, and support to prevent and combat sexual harassment and other forms of violence in the workplace. The programme also created the Emprega + Mulheres (Employ More Women) Seal, which recognises companies that implement measures to provide childcare and kindergartens to meet the needs of their employees, that hire women for leadership positions, and promote them professionally, among other measures. |
