Date: 2022 -
Web: Official website of the programme
Description: The On the Job Training (OJT) programme was designed to give new graduates the opportunity to experience the world of work and gain practical occupational skills and work experience within the public and private sectors, as well as in non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The programme was initially under the Ministry of Education, but was later reassigned to the Ministry of Labour. It is open to nationals aged 16 to 35, and has a duration of a 24-month cycle.
The objectives of the programme are to provide job skills training; to match the academic and technical skills of future apprentices with the needs of the labour market; to encourage apprentices to adopt attitudes and work ethics that will enhance their ability to obtain sustainable employment; and to develop the nation's human resource capacity.
