Description: The Youth and Employment Programme (PJE) aims to improve the employability of low-income young people at social risk through theoretical and practical job training in classrooms and a first work experience through internships in companies, in order to provide them with skills, knowledge and abilities for the execution of a trade and completing their formal educational training.

1) Courses

Conditionalities: Class attendance
Description: The young people receive training that develops competitive skills such as group integration, mathematics, communication skills, work organisation and customer service, among others, as well as orientation tools for the job search. The courses have a duration of 4 months (150 hours). Participants receive a stipend of RD$70.00 per class attended to cover transportation costs, as well as life and accident insurance while they are taking the course and all course materials.
Amount : DOP$ 70 per day

 

2) Internships

Periodicity of delivery: Daily or weekly
Recipient of the transfer: Direct participant
Description: The internships of young people linked to the Youth Employment Programme in selected companies are aimed at completing their job training and increasing their chances of entering the labour market. The internships take place during the last stage of the programme and last for a period of 2 months (240 hours).
Amount : RD$ 70 per day
