Description: The Youth with a Future programme (PJCF) is a public-private intervention in professional training and development of qualifying internships in leading companies, which seeks to provide an articulated response to the labour problems of young people from vulnerable social sectors by improving their conditions of employability. The programme aims to generate opportunities for social and labour inclusion for young people through qualifying practices performed in a work environment that allows the acquisition of basic skills and job skills required by each occupation.
   

Characteristics

Target population: Young people between 18 and 24 years, from vulnerable sectors, with incomplete secondary education, and without accredited vocational training or significant work experience.

1) Qualifying Internship

Description: This stage involves theoretical classroom training - which includes basic and technical skills - and an internship in a real working environment. The intervention length depends on the training (between 3 and 10 months and a workload of up to 6 hours per day or 30 hours per week). In the end, participants receive a certificate issued by the company and, in some cases, an additional certificate (granted in agreement with an educational institution). Participants receive a monthly allowance and compensation for travel expenses, jointly financed by the MTEySS and the participating company. The company is responsible for the payment of medical insurance. In addition, companies provide support and job guidance to young graduates, to facilitate the search for post-training employment.
