| Resumen: | The 2026 update of the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) covers 108 countries and 6.3 billion people. Of these, 1.2 billion people – or 18.9 percent – are living in acute multidimensional poverty, henceforth referred to as poverty in this update. These individuals are deprived in at least one-third of the weighted indicators that make up the global MPI. |
