UNRISD has spent more than six decades developing exactly the capabilities that today’s moment demands, consistently adapting to global transformations while remaining anchored in its mission of advancing social justice and sustainable development. In 2025, despite a challenging geopolitical context marked by rising inequalities and global uncertainty, UNRISD demonstrated its agility by delivering more than 80 research outputs and convening over 90 events, engaging 700 high-level speakers and 127 global partners, all of which informed multilateral debates and policy processes. Its work, produced in collaboration with a diverse global network of over 400 researchers—67% of whom are women and 62% from the global South— addressed key issues such as inequality, gender justice, care, taxation, just transitions and the social and solidarity economy. |
