Resumen: The scale and intensity of crises in fragile, conflict, and violence (FCV) affected contexts pose one of the greatest threats to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and upholding children's rights. Over 460 million children worldwide—one in six—live in conflict zones and require humanitarian assistance to meet their immediate needs. Nearly 42 per cent of children in FCV contexts are in extremely poor households, and almost half of the world's children living in extreme poverty are in these areas. Additionally, 40 per cent of those forcibly displaced due to persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, or significant disruptions to public order are children. Generally, children in FCV contexts face severe rights violations, heightened climate-related risks, and unprecedented levels of hunger, all of which have long-term detrimental effects on their development.
