Resumen: This report presents evidence on six common myths around gender and cash transfers. It refutes each myth with evidence from lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs) globally and delve more specifically into evidence from Africa (including evidence from global reviews and from the Transfer Project2). In addition, it provides recommendations to policy makers and practitioners considering best practices to help increase gender equality and sustainably meet the overall goals of cash transfer programmes and social protection more broadly.
