Resumen: This book celebrates women leaders around the world and marks 20 years since the passage of UN Security Council Resolution 1325. The resolution recognises that women should have a seat at the peace table, that they have a role in preventing future conflicts, and need to be at the heart of a just recovery. In too many places around the world, women and girls are facing war and political upheaval. It is women, often the most marginalised, who are frequently the first to provide assistance. It is women who are picking up the pieces and rebuilding communities. It is women who are brokering peace and stepping forward to become leaders to help their countries heal. Women around the world are doing incredible things in the most difficult contexts and showing that they are feminist leaders. The Women, Peace and Security agenda must ensure that it puts women at the centre – not politics – and transforms the lives of women and girls.
