| Resumen: | This briefing uses the cases of Mexico and Colombia to analyse the measurement of multidimensional poverty based on ethnic categories. The MPI methodology is especially useful for quantifying and describing indigenous poverty, in contrast to monetary indicators, because it can identify the various simultaneous deprivations that create their specific situation of poverty with the use of a single tool. |
