Description: Conditional cash transfer program that aims to promote the permanence of children from families in poverty or extreme poverty in the formal education system in the early childhood and primary stages.
   

Characteristics

Target population: Families in situations of poverty or extreme poverty with children attending to centers of the Ministry of Public Education in preschool or primary school cycles.
Geographic scale: National
Targeting method: 1) Categorical: All people who received the preeschool or primary education scholarship from the National Scholarship Fund (FONABE) in July 2019 became automatically users of Crecemos.
As of 2020, the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS) will use the following targeting methods:
1) Proxy means test: using data from the Social Information Card (FIS)
2) Categorical: Active students of primary and preschool in situations of poverty or extreme poverty
Instrument of selection: Social Information Card of the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS)
Registry of recipients: Target Population Information System
Comments: In 2020, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, compliance with co-responsibility in Education was suspended.

Transferencia monetaria condicionada (Conditional Cash Transfer)

Recipient(s): Children in families in situations of poverty or extreme poverty who attend centers of the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) in preschool or primary school.
Mode of transfer: Flat transfer: The ammount received is the same for all students that are part of the program.
Mode of delivery: Deposit in bank account
Periodicity of delivery: Monthly
Recipient of the transfer: Head of household
Conditionalities: The student has to attend and remain in the educational system
Comments: In 2020, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, compliance with co-responsibility in Education was suspended.
